There’s not much left of the town of Sherwood, but it was once a thriving community. This website has been published to help preserve the heritage and history of this small town, tucked away in an isolated corner of Franklin County, Tennessee. For some visitors the words and pictures may bring back fond memories of family, friends, baseball on Sunday afternoon, and swimming in Crow Creek. Younger web visitors may see a place they have only heard of from a family member. Visitors without connection to the town may not recognize the buildings or people, but they will sense a bond with a historic landscape that reflects the story of thousands of other American towns, large and small, that have flourished for a time then faded. |
